ALL DOGS MUST WEAR A CANINE FLOATATION DEVICE/DOGGY LIFE JACKET!!! Dogs and owners meet us at the boat ramp and listen to the PA. The exact location will be determined by water flow. This fun event celebrates our fearless, dedicated pooches as they retrieve items from the roaring Arkansas River.

Hecla Junction AHRA site to Salida Whitewater Park, 14 miles. Rapids include Seidel’s Suckhole, Twin Falls, Squaw Creek Rapid, Boat Chute at the low head dam, and the Salida Whitewater Park.

Stone Bridge AHRA site to Salida Whitewater Park, 10 miles. Rapids include Squaw Creek Rapid, Boat Chute at the low head dam, and the Salida Whitewater Park. Finish will be the boatramp hole in the whitewater park. Participants must wear a helmet and PFD.

Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center to Salida Whitewater Park, 26 miles. Rapids include Canyon Doors, Pinball, Zoom Flume, Big Drop, Seven Stairs, Widowmaker, Raft Ripper, Back Doors, Seidel’s Suckhole, Twin Falls, Squaw Creek Rapid, Boat Chute at the low head dam, and the Salida Whitewater Park.

Calling this a whitewater paddling event may be generous, but saying it is one of the most fun events of FIBArk would be right on. The Hooligan Race is open to anything that floats that’s not a boat.

New to FIBArk! 4 racers at a time will go head-to-head through the Salida Whitewater Park navigating gates, river features and knocking each other out of the way to take the lead.  Spectators will love watching this boisterous event as racers battle through the whitewater park to get the first-place

Brought to FIBArk in the fifties, the Olympic sport of whitewater slalom racing requires paddlers to negotiate a series of gates suspended over the river through the Whitewater Park in downtown Salida.

Stand Up Paddle boarders race head to head through the slalom course in our Whitewater Park, racing to stay upright and be the first across the finish line.

This is a must-see event as rafts will go head-to-head through the whitewater park in downtown Salida.  Each team will show off their speed and swiftness as they battle for the lead to cross the finish line first. Order: Under 12' Heat Over 12' Heat

Come compete in the Colorado Cup! Prelims - Friday 11:30 am Finals - Saturday 2:45 pm - 5:15 pm

With all the serious raft races out there today, we almost overlooked the lighter side of rafting. Not anymore. Be ready to put on a show and kick off the freestyle action at the Salida Whitewater Park. Prizes will be awarded for nothing but silly moves.
