FIBark Production Assistant / Event Crew

Be part of the magic behind FIBArk, America’s oldest and boldest whitewater festival in beautiful Salida, Colorado! Each June, we celebrate thrilling river races, live music, and community spirit — and we need you to help make it happen.
We’re hiring Production Assistants / Event Crew to support all aspects of the festival. As a crew member, you’ll assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces, help with staging and signage, support vendors, manage crowd flow, and keep operations running smoothly across the event footprint.
This is a physical, outdoor role — you’ll be lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions. Festival environments can be fast-paced and high-energy, so we’re looking for people who are dependable, adaptable, strong problem-solvers, and bring a calm, can-do attitude.

Dates: June 15–21, 2026
Location: Salida, Colorado (Riverside Park and surrounding areas)
Rate: $1,500 (Contract)
Equipment Provided: Crew shirt (required for all shifts), reflective vest, radio, food vouchers, and water
Age Requirement: 21+
Background Check Required
Preferred (but not required):
Previous event or production experience
TIPs certification (required for some roles)
Additional Requirements:
Frequently lift and move items up to 50 lbs (barricades, tents, fencing, etc.)
Perform repetitive physical tasks
Stand and walk for long periods
Work comfortably outdoors in varying conditions
Follow and communicate safety procedures

Position Overview
The Event Crew Lead plays a critical role in the successful execution of FIBArk by overseeing daily on-site operations and managing a team of 8–10 crew members. This leadership position is responsible for coordinating setup, active event operations, and breakdown while ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-organized environment across all festival areas.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, outdoor festival setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and support a team of 8–10 event crew members

Coordinate daily setup, operations, and breakdown of event infrastructure

Delegate tasks and manage crew workflow to ensure efficiency and timelines are met

Serve as a primary point of contact between crew and event leadership

Monitor and enforce safety protocols and procedures

Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and adapt to changing needs

Support event needs including staging, signage, crowd management, and vendor coordination

Maintain clear and consistent communication via radio and in-person direction
Qualifications

Previous experience in event production, logistics, or crew leadership preferred

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments

Experience working in outdoor or large-scale event settings is a plus

TIPs certification is a plus (required for some roles)
