Beginner/Intermediate Course (level 2/3)
This course will introduce and improve the skills that participants have learned in a level 1 course. Skills that will be learned include, boat control, river safety and rescue (swimming), surfing practice, and rolling.

About the event
For each day of class we ask that your paddlers show up with:
- plenty of water to drink
- Â a packed lunch
- personal river gear if you have it (PFD, helmet, wetsuit/drytop)
- Warm sweatshirt or jacket (for use when not in water), towel and extra warm stuff if prone to getting cold.
Day 1: Â Tuesday July 5. Â 9AM - 3PM
Meet at Canyon River Instruction (CRI): Â 11120 Co Rd 194, Salida, CO 81201
 Participants will be transported with equipment by CRI to a flatwater lake for day 1.  All participants will be back at CRI for pickup at 3pm.  Please note no personal vehicles can be driven to the lake due to permitting restrictions.
Day 2 Wednesday 6th. Â Â 9AM - 3PM
Meet at Salida downtown boat ramp. Â Session will be on the water in the river. Â Pickup at 3pm same location.
Day 3 Tuesday 12th. Â Â 9AM - 3PM
Meet at Salida downtown boat ramp. Â Session will be on the water in the river. Â Pickup at 3pm same location.
Day 4 Wednesd 13th. Â Â 9AM - 3PM
Meet at Big Bend (1/8 mile south of Independant Whitewater on Hwy165). Participants will paddle to Salida Whitewater Park and exit at the boatramp. Â Pickup at 3pm at Salida downtown boat ramp.
Schedule: Full days, July 5, 6, 12, and 13.
Participants: 10 maximum participants per session.

Location: The first day of this course would be on the lake going through flat water practice, the next 2 classes will be in the Salida whitewater park, then the last dayy will be a paddle from Big Bend to Salida .
Prerequisites and Description: This course would be designed for the new river runner. The student should have some level of boating before this course, preferably a level 1-2 course prior (the pool sessions)
